I did not plan to become an AI governance consultant. I spent over 15 years in HR leadership — manufacturing, nonprofits, government, multi-site organizations — recruiting people, hiring people, and fighting for people.

Then AI came into the hiring process. And suddenly the system was making decisions that no human could explain. Candidates were disappearing into a black hole before anyone saw their resume. I knew why. And I could not look away.

That is how ALS Consulting was born. Not from a business plan — from 15 years of watching great candidates get filtered out by technology that was never designed with them in mind.
